DDL44EM-I 4 channel dimmer regulator 4-20mA, PWM. Module control via Ethernet under the MODBUS TCP protocol or RS-485 under the MODBUS RTU protocol. Built-in WEB server.
The module is a device in a housing on a 2 unit DIN rail with 9 outputs, 4 4-20mA outputs, 4 PWM outputs and a common wire. Case size W 35.5mm x H 58mm x D 90mm.
Has management interfaces:
• Ethernet under the MODBUS TCP protocol;
• built-in WEB server for management via WEB browser;
• RS-485 under the MODBUS RTU protocol.
The module is powered by a DC voltage of 11-24 V. Power consumption is 0.6 W (12V, 0.05A).
The module has two outputs to each of the 4 channels. Impulse PWM (PWM) and voltage 0-10V. They work at the same time.
PWM are the keys on the MOSFET transistors. They commute output on minus power. The maximum voltage on the keys is 30V and the maximum current is 3A per channel. If output of the module is left free, then there will be no voltage at the output, it is supplied through the load. The voltage on the load may be different from the supply voltage of the module. For example, 5V, 12V or 24V.
The LED strip has common RGB - it's a plus of power and connects to 12 or 24V power, depending on the tape.
Tape output of each channel is minus and is connected to the module, then through internal transistor it is commuted to the minus power. If the output of the module is left free, then there will be no voltage on it.
A voltage output of 0-10V is generated from the PWM signal, which comes from the microcontroller and is made on an operational amplifier. At 0 load factor, the output will be 0V; at 100% load factor the output will be 10V. Maximum output current 20mA.
In addition to brightness of each of the RGB channels, there is also the general brightness. To get the brightness of channel one need:
(channel brightness 0-255) * (total brightness 0-100%) / 255
If the total brightness is 0, then nothing will glow. If the brightness of one channel is 0, then only this channel will not glow.
To set address and configure the module, download and run the RD Control Modbus v3.0 program.
The program allows one to configure the module and check its performance.
To program MODBUS parameters, download the program http://www.modbustools.com/. It is trial, but it allows you to send a command to the address 0 slave ID.
One more program http://www.focus-sw.com/fieldtalk/modpoll.html. It is free, but it can not send commands to 0 address.
After changing the Modbus address, don't forget to resupply power so that the Modbus address changes.
There will be no response to broadcast address 0 so that there was no conflicts from all modules connected to the bus.
An example of programming a Modbus RTU address is described in the blog.
To control brightness of the LED lamp, one need to connect the module to a 0-10 V controlled voltage source of the LED lamp.
Decryption of designation: D - DIN rail, D - dimmer, L - series, 4 - modification, 4 - number of output channels, U - voltage output, E - ETHERNET interface, M - MODBUS interface.
